Should I switch to a different domain provider?

Since I started dabbling on to getting a website, I have always used namecheap. The main reason is that, well, they're cheap and they had promos wherein the first year is really cheap, but then I learned later on that they get you with higher recurring fees.

Anyways I stuck with it and I didn't have any issues. Until recently where namecheap hosted domains and are being blocked by specific ISPs. Not that I need to have a very wide reach or anything, I just don't want the hassle of changing into one.

Maybe when my subscription expires, I'll shift to a new one? Not sure what is a reputable domain provider though that won't get blocked. GoDaddy? Google Domains? Now on to shopping for a better domain provider...

Recreating a personal space on the internet for the nth time

I can't believe I'm "reviving" my personal domain once more. And to think that I'm only reviving this whenever I'm feeling...off about my current career.

So here I am on a Saturday afternoon, recovering from a cold/flu/offness in my body and I have just finished setting up my website.

Tinkering with domains is fun, well at least for my personal pages.

Now, on to my ordeal:

- I reordered the domain with my name using the .com domain for $11.46 (US) and this cost is good for one year.

- My previous blog is still redirecting to a subdomain using that domain, so now it works

- What took most of my time this afternoon was setting up a landing page of some sort for my website. I used Canva to design and host my website. I might as well take advantage of the pro subscription that I got since I'm using Canva for my work for announcements.

- After designing my Canva landing page (coming from a template of course as I am not that much of a web designer) and my about me page, I'm ready to publish my website.

- Configuring the DNS settings for Canva is tricky. What didn't anyone tell me is that Canva announces to you that your website is live, which means that the DNS records have already been propagated.

Oh, but I just jumped right away into describing how I recreated my "tech presence". This blog is by the way going to be my anything tech related blog. Might even be related to work.
